Coach Josh Oppenheimer
Josh Oppenheimer, is an experienced basketball coach with an impressive career in the NBA and college basketball. He brings a wealth of experience, player development expertise, and a history of success at the highest levels of basketball.
- Coaching Journey: Oppenheimer’s coaching career began in the late 1990s after transitioning from his playing days. He started at the collegiate level, serving as an assistant coach at Duquesne (1998–2000), Delaware (2000–2002), DePaul (2002–2005), and Kent State (2005–2008). During his time at these programs, he played a pivotal role in shaping the development of student-athletes and building strong basketball teams.
- NBA Coaching Career: In 2013, Oppenheimer took his talents to the NBA, joining the Milwaukee Bucks as an assistant coach under head coach Larry Drew. His work with the Bucks was instrumental in developing players and contributing to the team’s success, culminating in the Bucks’ 2021 NBA Championship win. Oppenheimer earned a championship ring after Milwaukee defeated the Phoenix Suns in a six-game series.
- Oppenheimer continued his NBA coaching career with the Houston Rockets, where he served as an assistant coach for the 2016–17 season. His tenure with the Rockets further strengthened his coaching abilities, particularly in player development and game strategy.
- G League and International Experience: Oppenheimer expanded his coaching experience by joining the Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, in 2017. There, he helped develop rising basketball talent, giving him a deeper understanding of the developmental side of the game.
- In 2020, Oppenheimer returned to the Milwaukee Bucks, continuing his work as an assistant coach and contributing to the team’s ongoing success. Additionally, he worked with the Greek national basketball team in 2022, bringing his expertise to an international stage.
- Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Personal Development Coach: A key part of Oppenheimer’s coaching legacy is his long-standing role as the personal development coach for Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Milwaukee Bucks’ superstar. Since Giannis was drafted into the NBA, Oppenheimer has been integral in his development, both on and off the court, helping him refine his skills and reach new levels of greatness. This unique coaching relationship has played a critical role in Giannis’ rise to become one of the most dominant players in the NBA.

Event Registration Process:
- Limited spots are available for girls and boys ages 13-18.
- By submitting your application on this website, you’re securing your spot. To confirm your place, please complete your registration and pay a 50% deposit of $300 AUD.
- Your spot in the event will only be fully confirmed once we’ve received your deposit or full payment.
- The remaining balance can be paid on Day 1 of the showcase, either by cash or card.
- Please note that any delays in payment could result in your spot being given to another applicant. We encourage you to complete your payment as soon as possible to ensure your place.
Accommodations & Meals:
- The event will provide fruit snacks and juices to all participants for each of the 3 days. However, for participants traveling from far away who wish to receive one proper hot meal per day, an additional cost of 500 NOK applies for all three days. Please note that this meal option must be selected in advance on the application form, and an option should be added for this on the website.
- There is accommodation on site available at a rate of £80.00 per night to include bed/breakfast and hot meals. Details of booking will be contained on the booking page, in addition we have also an option for a hot meal at lunchtime @ £10 per day, again detailed on the booking link, for residents as well as day visitors. Payments for accommodation and meals are being handled directly with the college, participants will be contacted directly for payment by the college once their interest has been registered on the booking form.
Refund Policy:
- NO REFUND will be provided if a participant does not attend the event. However, if we are informed at least 15 days before the event, a partial or full refund may be considered based on the circumstances.
