DJ Bousveiar - Basketball Coach - High School

Djovan “DJ” Beausejour brings lots of experience and energy to the game of basketball and hopes to do his part in making this a great year on the farm for all the individuals there.

 

His journey started in Tacoma Park, MD, but most of his school was completed in the tri-state area. After competing on the varsity basketball program for two years at CB East, he chose to play at Centenary College, where he was a four-year starter, award winner, and record holder.

 

His time was not easy, and he encountered a lot of adversity and change. He even had to take three years away from the game because opportunities to continue his career did not come. During those three years, he did not quit and stayed committed to improvement. This ultimately led to his first opportunity playing overseas in the Dominican Republic and then led to continued stops in Europe before COVID caused him to pivot and relocate to Charlotte, NC.

 

In the States, he briefly continued his career, taking G-League tryouts and playing for some of the top semiprofessional teams in the area. While playing, he was known as a creative, efficient scorer, premier lockdown defender, and trusted teammate.

 

Since relocating to Charlotte, he has changed his focus to family and now coaching. This will be his second year coaching and first year coaching at Combine Academy. His coaching philosophy mirrors much of what his basketball playing philosophy was: attention to detail when improving, commitment to putting in the work every day, and having positive energy that lifts himself and those around him.

 

This is a long process that has many twists and turns. With his experience, he hopes to show these young student-athletes how to stay the course and achieve all the goals they have.
