Cheron Farley - National Baseball Head Coach

Cheron Farley has built a distinguished career as both a player and coach, bringing decades of baseball experience, leadership, and player development to Combine Academy.

 

Farley was drafted out of high school by the St. Louis Cardinals before beginning his collegiate career at Brevard Junior College, where he was a two-time NJCAA All-American and set the single-season home run record. He continued his playing career at North Carolina A&T University, where he led the team in batting average, hits, and stolen bases. Farley also represented College Team USA at the Tokyo Dome against Japan and continued to play some in Canada.

 

His coaching career began at SouthLake Christian Academy in 2012. During his time at SouthLake, Farley served as JV Baseball Coach from 2012–2015 and Varsity Assistant Baseball Coach from 2014–2018. He also coached varsity football from 2013–2018 before becoming the school’s Varsity Head Football Coach in 2019. From 2019–2024, he served as Head Coach of both the football and baseball programs.

 

Throughout his coaching career, Coach Farley has helped numerous student-athletes take the next step in their athletic and academic careers, sending many players on to compete at the college level in both football and baseball. His commitment to developing the complete student-athlete has been a cornerstone of his coaching philosophy.

 

In 2021, Farley was inducted into the Lincoln County Hall of Fame, recognizing his impact and contributions to athletics and the community. Farley joined the Summer Collegiate Team, Pineville Porcupines, as an Infield Coach in 2024 before taking over as Head Coach in 2025.

 

He continues to bring a player-first approach to the program, emphasizing fundamentals, discipline, accountability, preparation, and developing athletes both on and off the field. With experience at the professional, collegiate, high school, and summer collegiate levels, Coach Farley brings a unique perspective to developing players and building a championship-caliber culture within the Combine Academy organization.
